I am not much of a baker. I don't keep boxes of cakes mixes or brownies in stock around the house so baking is really a treat and fun event whenever I do decide to do it. Liam loves to help me cook. The minute he hears me take out a pan he runs into the kitchen and says " mommy I want to help" or "let me see". So he was so excited when I told him we were going to make valentines cookies. Which BTW I didn't even teach him about valentines but thanks to Disney Jr he was very familiar with the word....Too cute! I looked up a recipe online and crossed my fingers I had all the ingredients and to my surprise, I did! Now I've had some pretty yummy homemade sugar cookies and so I was not expecting that I could possibly make anything as good even following a recipe (I always seem to mess it up) but to my surprise, they turned out so yummy and soft. We spent a large amount of our time cutting out shapes, and playing with the dough (that was his favorite part). Luke joined us in the kitchen in his swing, just smiling and blowing raspberries, that's his new thing. It became an all night event but I just loved building these memories with my son and bonding over baking!
