Mint is hot right now! Here is a step by step tutorial on how to get this cute ombré mint nail design. This look may require some practice to perfect but you honestly can't mess it up. Tag me on Instagram @lilycupcake if you recreate this look, Id love to see your nails too! Lets get started....
What You'll need :
1 light shade mint polish (Mint Sorbet, Sally Hansen) 1 Shade of darker Mint Polish (Avon, Serene) Top Coat Nude Polish Wedge makeup sponge Q-tips & Nail polish remover Quick Dry/Top Coat (Revlon) |
Add 1 coat of top coat, let dry, then 1 coat of nude color |
Paint a stripe of polish directly onto the sponge, Darker color first, then lighter (be generous) |
Then take sponge and roll over your nail from left to right, starting with your pinky onto your thumb on all 10 fingers |
Replenish the polish every 2-3 nails and repeat the sponging on all 10 nails about 4-6 times until you get the color you want. Sit and let dry for about 5 min when done |
Use Q-tip and clean up the messy edges or you could also tape the skin surrounding your nail |
Finish off with top coat and if you're a Mom or a girl on the go, Quick Dry is a MUST |
Look how adding a top coat smoothens out the look and makes it glossy (Middle finger had no top coat) |
Finished look
Love it! Don't forget to tag me to see your nails.
Love, Lily Rubio |
